Course Duration

This program is delivered as a 1 day course with pre course online learning. Learners with low LLN may complete additional training days prior to assessment. Additional fees apply for additional training and should be discussed with Ironbark Training to determine the most cost-effective option.

Unit Descriptor

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and place materials.

This unit applies to those working in site based roles.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit.

This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.Plan and prepare for excavator operations

• Operate excavator in line with established requirements to complete work activity
• Lift, carry and place materials to complete work activity
• Select, remove, fit and use attachments for a excavator
• Prepare to relocate the excavator
• Conduct housekeeping activities

Pre-requisites and Licensing / Regulatory Information

There are no pre-requisites for this unit of competency.

There are currently no licensing requirements attached to this unit in NSW.

However, students must be able to complete all training and assessment materials in accordance with the instructions and assessment requirements for that instrument. In particular, learners must have sufficient English language to complete the assessment without the use of an interpreter, assistant or any reference materials.
